Multitouch interfaces seem to be all the rage right now. I just got back from Mix and SXSW and saw several examples of multitouch devices from the Surface to some very budget versions using Wiimotes and IR LED gloves.
But I think this super giant interface that was shown at CeBIT might have them beat. It looks like it works much in the same way as the Surface only on a super jumbo scale. Check out the video:
This guy is doing some very amazing stuff. I can’t wait to play around with his code.
I need to fix my old projector to see about getting this to work.
I wonder if you could tear out the Wiimote sensor place it just above a laptop screen sort of like in his demo but have it mounted to the laptop. You might need two sensors to cover the entire screen, but that would make for a very easy home built multi-touch screen solution.
