Antitagging

Anti tagging or untagging or negatagging or my favorite taxnotomy.

I want to emplement a system of tagging that allows me to describe what something is not. I think this would be very useful on flickr. For example a picture of a cup of coffee is not tea.

Here’s a good example of anti tagging in action on this Starbucks cup. To inform the barista that no water be added h2o was written and struck out.

Worst WiFi Hotels

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

This article about hotels and wifi was super helpful to me. I just don’t get why internet isn’t included with rooms these days. With the advent of EDGE and other highspeed cell options people are going to stop using their fee based systems. I’m more likely to stay at a hotel that offers free wifi though.

To be fair here’s a list of the hotels with the best wifi

While attending one of the presentations the presenter had a flickr slideshow going of all the photos tagged with iasummit06. This one I took of Aaron was up on the screen for a bit while they switched to another web site.

I’m tired. I need more coffee or drugs or something. I’m currently taking a break from any sessions just to help my brain catch back up. It’s been really great so far. I’ve learned a bunch but most of all its helped validate that what I’ve done and what I have been doing is good quality work. There’s a clear and simple message I’m getting from the attendees and that seems to be around best practices. There’s no one way to do the work we do so it’s a matter of filling your tool chest with the most polished options you can put together.

The woman in the photo is Danah Boyd I had a brief chance to meet her. She’s a bit of a superstar when it comes to online communities and such.

I’m going to go take a nap.

under construction

This building fascinates me. It’s under construction, prostate yet it’s in use. The lower floors seem to be actively occupied by businesses. I don’t know the story, oncology but I’m guessing this is a great way to fund the further development. Less risky and easier to generate revenue right away. It’s sort of like taking agile methodology to construction. I wonder if they are listening to the current tenants and make improvements to the new floors? There are a bunch sings around its base. I’ll see if I can gather more information.

Clockwise: Tiramisu, pregnancy Mango/Rasberry/Passion fruit sorbet and assorted handmade chocolates. Oh my goodness!

I know this isn’t all that IA related but hey the food we ate at the restaurant CIN CIN was good.

The highlight of the evening was the fabulous conversation with many smart people.
