Dundas Chart for .NET

by Ryan Lane on February 2, 2006

This is exactly the sort of thing that is totally wrong with information design. This product it nice in that it’s flexible and offers nice graphing/charting abilities in a web application. However their examples are the all wrong. Take a look at their animated charts. most of them are too slow and the animation doesn’t add any value at all. It actually takes away from it. When I first heard about the product I was exited at the idea of flash based chart to show real time data fluctuations or give feedback based on user set filters. Nope, it’s just a powerpoint style screen loading wastefulness. Yuck!
