DyRT: Dynamic Response Textures for Real Time Deformation

by Ryan Lane on January 12, 2006

Some very smart people have been working on a project called DyRT: Dynamic Response Textures for Real Time Deformation Simulation With Graphics Hardware. In a nutshell it’s a way to make 3D models behave more lifelike. Especially in humans and such. There’s a video that helps demonstrate how DyRT effects body movement. In their example they show belly motion but I’m guessing all of this research will really help with more lifelike breasts since that’s what most video games are all about these days.
