What to do with all those old electronics?

by Ryan Lane on December 5, 2005

Sell, recycle or donate. First thing to do is take a look on ebay and see what that stuff is selling for. If there is any good dollar value to it, then I’ll sell it. If not then recycling might be in order. Ebay also has a program called Rethink that helps direct you in the process of getting rid of old electronic equipment and computers. Various manufactures have their own programs for the hardware they produce. just do a search on their website for recycling. When it comes to donating I’ve found that most of the local schools have shown interest. They usually want stuff that isn’t too old. I also have found that family members are usually in need as well.

However, I’ve been a little less enthusiastic supporting my old crappy hardware once I give it to them. So instead I’ve been trying to help them get better systems for their needs.

All that being said I’ve got about 5 old computers that I need to get rid of. I better get on it. Any takers?
