Mapping Time travel

Travel By Time MapThis student did a very good job of remapping the London Underground to reflect travel time instead of distance. I like his ideas behind dynamically updating the map based on real time data as well.

Brilliant. Though I don’t understand why it had to be “centered” with “time 0″ at the school. Just make the zones and don’t label how many minutes each is — people can count the zones to find out how long their journey will take.

I wonder how accurate it turns out to be in practical use, since trains are always getting delayed and things.

When I was in London I found a book of various designs of the tube map, both historical and experimental. I haven’t been able to find it online though, and I really want it.
