smaller iPod shuffle

by Ryan Lane on November 18, 2005

According to the folks over at AppleInsider even smaller iPod shuffle may debut in January. As well as the introduction of colored shuffles.

On a related note I had a brief talk with Daryll at MS today about the iPod and we think everyone is in agreement that Apple is investing too much in the ID of the iPod and not the UI. It’s starting to show the negative effects of this. The newest iPod video is still a great product, but Apple needs to be more serious about the user interface as features are added.

I find it interesting that on the iPod Video and Nano, the password and stopwatch apps (possibly others) have an OS X like shell around the windows. I wonder if that’s an indication of things to come.

Interesting. I didn’t notice those apps. That’s usually how new interfaces are leaked out. Otherwise, the design group who made those tools just wasn’t following the right design guidelines. Which unfortunately happens all the time.

good to hear that apple is spending all their time making their ipods smaller instead of making laptops that actually work well! grrr… i’m still bitter about the fact that my ibook is a lemon.
