Domain Services from Microsoft?

Usenet HierarchiesUsenet Hierarchies is a box plot visualization of usenet usage. The size of the boxes are related to the number of posts in a usenet newsgroup. I really like how you can view the plots by month all the way back to 1999. The red color shows decreasing usage while green shows increased activity. This is an interesting perspective on the usenet zeitgeist created by Marc Smith.

Huh, medical you said what? Microsoft is offering domain hosting? Check out Windoes Live Custom Domains. It’s in Beta, one health but what isn’t these days.

I guess I just don’t understand why MS would want to get involved in an already very crowded space. Sure, website like this I see this as a nice value add to service to customers. I wonder what the .NET support is like for developers?

update: Endqoute was nice enough to point out that I didn’t read it clearly. The hosting looks to be email plus communications based stuff only at this time.

Based on that description, it looks like they’re just hosting your MX records or something, not handling registration or web site hosting.
